50 Days of Prayer
50 Prayers of Prayers and Prayer Blessing Walks
Thank you for joining together on this journey. This guide has been put together by your prayer team. They are numbered for your convenience only, do them in any order, including the Blessing Walks listed at the end. And of course, pray additionally as the Spirit leads. If you would like to anoint the areas around the church you walk, please take a vial of anointing oil (at the front desk) and return it when you finish. Make a small sign of the cross or just a swish on an object that is part of the space you are praying over. If you can not do the literal walks, imagine them and pray over them that way.
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
Prayers
Prayer 1- Holy Spirit, You are welcome at Christ Church. We implore you to shower your goodness and your mercy on clerical staff and support staff and teachers and youth and children as we all work together to share your love with each other as we walk the righteous path of Jesus. Amen.
Prayer 2- We pray in the name of the Trinity for courage and strength to carry the Gospel message to the ends of the earth. Amen
Prayer 3- We, as members of Christ Church, seek your presence in our lives that we may respond with your voice to those who may or may not be seeking you that they too can be followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen
Prayer 4- Father God lay your hand on Heather and Ellen and Jon and Dan as they serve you in pastoring your flock. Continue to renew their spirits with the power of your Holy Spirit. May they be enveloped by the peace that passeth all understanding. In Jesus name. Amen
Prayer 5- Fill our pastors and all our church leadership with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8) May they be supported and renewed with passion as they fulfill their calling either vocationally or as volunteers, to reach the world with the gospel message.
Prayer 6- Lord, create a spirit of prayer in Christ Church. Raise up intercessors, prayer teams, renew our current prayer ministry and may we become a house of prayer
Prayer 7- Father God, bless our children’s ministry, that it would draw ever more children to know and love you more. We lift up the leaders of that ministry, Lynette Read, Charlie Cole and Carolyn Hermann.
Prayer 9- Guide us to find ways to reach outside the walls of this church with the Word, whether that is to draw them to this church or another church, or to reach them where they are. Give us courage and conviction to win others to Christ.
Prayer 10- We lift up the ministry of Mission, turning ourselves outward to help in a hurting world, be that with financial support, hands on, whatever is needed. Show us the ways we can partner with you where you are already at work O Lord. Encourage the leaders of that ministry with your presence and the ongoing support of the church to refresh their passion and the good work they do.
Prayer 11- We pray for the ministry of Discipleship in all the forms it occurs, whether Sunday schools, small groups, bands, bible studies and more. Fill all with a desire to grow in their knowledge of you and in their desire to grow in faith and to become more like you. We pray for the leadership of that group, that they would be led to the needed directions to best foster discipleship.
Prayer 12- Pray for the worship team, for the director Dennis Belisle, for the musicians Jim Connors and Mihai Vatca, for the drummer and for the choir members. Give thanks for this ministry that God uses as a means of grace to open people’s hearts to grow closer to God. Pray for more people to join the choir.
Prayer 13- Pray for the leadership board of the church, for the work they do to ensure the mission of the church is carried out, for the often tough decisions they have to make. Give thanks for the hard work they do, lift them up in support of the time they volunteer to serving the church.
Prayer 14- Pray for the financial stewardship of the church, that all would be blessed by the giving back to God out of the blessings that God has provided. Pray for all to see the value in contributing to the ministry development of the church in this, to helping to provide a place where people can gather to support each other in our faith journeys.
Prayer 15- Pray for the neighborhoods in the vicinity of the church. Lift up each home, that they would be filled with Godly peace and that those who do not know Christ would be drawn to find a bible-based church.
Prayer 16- Pray for healing of those who are ill (list any by name.) Pray that they would receive the healing God offers and that they would feel His presence with them as they walk through difficult times. Pray that God would show us how we can be of comfort as a part of God’s plan of healing.
Prayer 17- Pray that the Holy Spirit would be manifest so strongly in Christ Church, that revival would happen here, that there would a joyful celebration of the power and work of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer 18- Pray for each school in our community, that the teachers are filled and refreshed in the power of the Holy Spirit for the important work they do, that the children also see God in amazing ways, that there is an atmosphere of joy and learning in all educational institutions.
Prayer 19- We lift up Christian counselors as they seek to deal with those who are troubled, that the Holy Spirit would guide them in wisdom and that their clients would find healing.
Prayer 20- We lift up all forms of government, that those who are making decisions for our communities are being led in Godly ways, and that their communities support and show gratitude for the work they do.
Prayer 21- Pray for all first responders, for the difficult work they do, protect them from harm as they often put themselves in harm’s way for the sake of others. Pray that they know the presence of the Lord especially in these difficult situations. May all give them the gratitude and support they deserve.
Prayer 22- Pray for Holy Spirit boldness for the pastors and church leaders, for decisions, preaching, confronting issues and criticism. Pray for support and assistance by the church.
Prayer 23- Pray for the Gospel message to be proclaimed everywhere, not just in churches – in the newspapers, social media, television, governments, within drug cultures, nursing homes, prisons and more.
Prayer 24- Pray for those who don’t know God to have a mighty conversion. Let all know the presence of God wooing them and seeking them for his kingdom. Fill them with the Holy Spirit that they hunger for the Word. Raise up courageous believers who will tell their story of You in their lives so that others can come to know the glory that is you.
Prayer 25- Pray for broken relationships of all kinds – marital, parental, siblings, friends. Pray that there is forgiveness for hurt, and that healing begins. Pray for the intervention of the Holy Spirit to bring them to a place of renewed trust and love.
Prayer 29- Father God, we are Your church. We are nothing without you. We humbly ask you to bless our church leaders, both globally and locally. Fill them with the Holy Spirit, so that Your message is understood by all who hear it. Empower our ministries – for adults and students and children, men and women, missions, and worship – to find new ways to reach out to our community, so all will come to know You. Bless Pastor Heather, Pastor Ellen, Pastor Jonathan, and Pastor Dan with Your presence, Your power, Your passion, and Your promptings. Unite our congregation as we seek Your will and Your way. Help our staff – Pam, Jared, Lynette, Charlie, Dennis, Jesus, etc. – to follow Your lead and serve others with Your heart.
Prayer 30- Father God, we enter Your throne room to ask you to help us reach out to our neighbors in every subdivision, every school and college, every business, and every agency. Guide us to those in need so that we can show them the Jesus that loves them and died for them. Prompt us to invite them to our church. We are your vessels. Fill us so that we can fill others.
Prayer 31- Father God, we know Your perfect love casts out fear. So we ask that you fill us with Your perfect love, and remove our fear of speaking and preaching in Your name. Remind us to proclaim Jesus’ name each time we pray for others. Help our Stephen Ministry to help others in Jesus’ name. Give our local leaders – legislators, law enforcement, etc. – a new heart full of Your Holy Spirit. And let Your name return to our schools, so that future generations know of Your love.
Prayer 32- Father God, we pray for Your church and our local church, to withstand the attacks from others outside our church, and from inside our church. Release the bonds of sin, denial, bias, and fear. Help us to focus on You, Lord. Give our leaders the strength to challenge these attacks, by shining Your love and Your light on the darkness. Help us to pray for those who persecute us, in Jesus’ name.
Prayer 33- Father God, help us to “think outside the box”. Show us new places to shine Your light and spread Your message. Sharpen our senses so that we can feel the Holy Spirit’s promptings as we move through our day. When we drive by a hospital or government building or business, remind us to pray for those who may not know You. When we are waiting in line, help us to remember to pray for those in waiting with us. Open our hearts to find those places most in need of Your love.
Prayer 34- Father God, we thank you for the new life You have given us in Jesus. We want others to enjoy that new life! Please guide us to pray for those who don’t know the joy of salvation and the love of Jesus. Bring to our minds the friends and family and acquaintances who do not know You, so that we can lift them in prayer, and help us to shine Your light on them. Empower our pastors with your Holy Spirit so that their sermons will draw the seekers and open their hearts and ears to Your message.
Prayer 35- Father God, thank You for putting a willingness in our hearts to share the good news of your Son, Jesus Christ. As we walk through our neighborhood, help us to pause mentally at each house and pray for those who live there: if they are not saved, we pray that they will hear You calling to them. If they are saved, we pray for whatever struggles they may be facing. Bring their names to our minds so we can pray for each person. Give us the courage to invite them to church. As we drive to work or on errands or to church, help us to notice the places that need Your salvation and guide our prayers. As we watch the news or scroll through social media, call our attention to the needs of others. Help us to live as the early Christians lived – in fellowship and community with those around us.
Prayer 36- Father God, we thank You that You have freed us from the chains of sin and pain. We want others who are in pain to know that freedom. Some have never known You, but others may have walked away from You and Your church – or from “religion” – for their own reasons. We plead for them, Lord. Please heal their emotional and spiritual wounds. And if there are any divisions or rifts in Your church, we ask that You heal those wounds as well. Flood Your people with a spirit of forgiveness and cooperation. Help us to be one, in You.
Prayer 37- Father God, we thank you for providing for us a beautiful church and a talented team so that we can worship You joyfully. We lift up our worship team, our technical team, our pastors and staff, that You would enable them to lift Your name in praise for all to hear. We ask that You bless the front doors of our church, that all who enter will know they are welcome and loved. We pray for each seat in the sanctuary, that Your name will be praised with whole hearts and voices. We lift up the musicians and their musical instruments, the choir, the praise team, the worship leaders, and the pulpit, that all who hear them will be drawn closer to You and want to know You better.
Prayer 38- Father God, we thank you that in Genesis 15:1 You promised “I am your Shield”. We ask that you be our shield now, if we face any attacks from our adversary. Shield our pastors and staff and leadership from any spirit of discord. Defend our finances – YOUR finances – from any nefarious activity. Guard our children and youth and their leaders from any temptations. Protect our minds from any improper desires. Give us wisdom and discernment as we seek Your will and Your way.
Prayer 39- Most Holy Father, we pray for the people of CCM – the congregation, the church. We lift them to you and ask you to meet each individual at their point of need. The biggest need we have is a true relationship with you. To know you in a deep, loving trusting way – to accept wholeheartedly your offer of salvation.
Prayer 40- Forgiving Lord, you gave your life for us. There is no greater love than this. It’s impossible to walk any place in this building and not find you through the cross…
- Doors (entry into your presence
- Walls (strength)
- Windows (vision)
- Roof (covering)
Precious Lord, keep us mindful of you and you surrounding protection Amen
Prayer 41- Pray for our ministries of caring, our support groups, Stephen Ministry, our visit team; continue to use them and pour your grace through them into those who need care and into those who are giving care.
Prayer 42- Pray for the Women’s and Men’s Ministries, that they would be sources of connection and joy with Christ at the center. May it be a place where women and men can share their stories and help each other to grow in faith
Prayer 43- Gracious God, thank you for the gift of prayer, a conversation with you. May we be mindful of your presence in us through the Holy Spirit. May we pray to bring glory to your name. May we pray to enjoy a oneness with you. To know you and learn more of you and your might. My heart’s desire is to have an intimate relationship with you.
