Our Story
On April 15, 1991, Dr. Daniel T. Hannon planted Christ Church United Methodist and on Christmas Eve, 1995 we celebrated Jesus’ birth, worshipping the first time on our own campus. From this once vacant piece of land located in the heart of The Woodlands, we grew up to reach out from the heart of worship into our community and beyond. We exist only because Christ made it possible.
Our Christ Church Preschool (established in 1997) and The Climbing Tree Daycare and School (established in 2005) serve families with children from 6 weeks to 5 years old offering excellence in learning and development opportunities in a Christ-centered extension of the family unit.
Our Garden of Grace Columbarium (established in 2011) offers a place of eternal rest for those who have departed this life for the next.
Our campus is how we are equipped to extend Jesus to families, children, youth, and adults in our community, outwardly into the surrounding area, and even globally through our missional relationships.
In 2019, Dr. Hannon retired, passing the baton of senior leadership to Rev. Jeff Powers. Rev. Powers comes to nourish the church this next season by bringing God’s Word and cultivating rich resources for strong and healthy growth.
1 Cor.3:6 says that while it was Paul who planted and Apollos who watered it, it is God who makes it grow. We invite you to come, grow with us.
