Church Administrator position
We are searching for a Church Administrator to join our Christ Church Methodist team in The Woodlands, TX. This role calls for a committed individual who prioritizes his/her own personal journey with Christ, exemplifies Christian character, is teachable, and works well within the larger team at Christ Church.
The Church Administrator’s responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, which include keeping accurate financial records, supervising operations staff, managing the facility, and coordinating church communications.
Ultimately, you will work in a collaborative team environment with staff and volunteer leaders to ensure the church operates as efficiently as possible.
Responsibilities
- Handling church communications and publications, creating and distributing bulletins and newsletters & social media posts. Maintenance of church’s website.
- Overseeing church facility maintenance, repairs, insurance, and security operations
- Financial responsibilities – assist with budget preparation, communicate financial reporting to Sr. Pastor and to the Leadership Board.
- HR administrator – ensure HR policies and procedures are current and administered. Process onboarding and offboarding of church staff.
- IT responsibilities include setting up new employees, emails, and managing Office 365 licenses.
- Assisting with scheduling meetings, renting church facilities, and enforcing church policies for facility use
- Building and maintaining relationships with the congregation and community
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Church Administrator or similar role
- Experience in human resources management including familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills especially Microsoft 365.
- Ability to handle stress and to problem solve. Openness to new ideas, and positive attitude.
- Team player and collaborative staff member
- Ability to keep confidential and sensitive information.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, office management, or related field or equivalent experience in a similar position
- 4 years’ office management/administrative experience, preferably in a church or non-profit environment.
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ, and willingness to support the beliefs and practices of Christ Church Methodist.
Job Type: Full-time exempt position
